I have an obsession with gold, and everything matching. This was one of the best purchases (as of now) I have made in a while. This is VERY bright, so you will see spots afterwards - especially if you're hypersensitive, but works great for monitoring PLRs.Mine came with a black covering which helps with scatter light, and also protects the bulb when I store it in a pin cup.As of now, I only have two 'complaints' 1. This is a little too long for a standard scrub pocket 2. It needs AAAA batteries - uh, what? these can be ordered from Amazon, but I don't think they're available at Walmart, etc. After getting a ticket for having no proof of insurance and discovering that my registration was old, I bought a visor holder to keep everthing I needed handy. It occurred to me that one thing I often needed and could never find was a flashlight. I chose this flashlight because it was thin enough to fit in the pen holder, had good reviews, and was affordable. Some people have complained that the beam was too diffused but that works for me better than a narrow beam. I'm very pleased with this purchase.I almost didn't buy this one because another reviewer said it was too big for the visor on his RAV4 but I couldn't find another one I liked as much. Glad I bought it because it fits snugly on mine (older model car). It holds everything I need it to hold, including that Streamlight 65024 Stylus Flashlight.Awesome little light! Love the style, form, and function! I got it to replace an unreliable pen light for eye exams in an urgent care setting. This little light is terrific for illuminating wounds or other trans-illumination but far too bright for pupil exams. It left me seeing spots for several minutes after just a brief exposure. I’ll still keep it in my shirt pocket for when I need a super bright light but will go back to the old school AAA incandescent penlight for pupil exams.Nice bright light in my hand which I used for my Milky Way photos . It wasn’t overwhelming bright which is not good for night photosits a darn good light. fits snugly in a pocket without being bulky and provides plenty of light. already dropped it a few times without incident and used in damp conditions - camping-. the AAAA batteries hold up longer than i had expected. the gold housing stands out when dropped making it easy to find. the fashion for lights seems to be black now days....good luck finding that light on a dark path when you butter finger it.the momentary on switch is more handy than i thought it would be, you don't realize it until you use it for a weekend. makes forgetting to turn it off a little more difficult for the absent minded adventurerone con- the focus cap, the little plastic cap that focuses the light gets lost quickly if you don't leave it on the lightJust ordered my second one of these (lost my first one after using it daily at work for about 3-4 years). It was still on its first set of AAAA batteries and still worked very well. I did feel that the on/off button on the back became a bit more picky, but overall the penlight stood up very well. I was an EMT and now work as an emergency physician and have tried many brands of penlights. Streamlight is by far the best. The brand also makes a ton of different flashlights, headlamps, and other small lights for a variety of applications, and I recently ordered a miniature light that attaches to a key chain. Also, works really well, and has stood up thus far. Don't pay $80+ dollars for a medical penlight. Get the 65024. It's a great product.Having been sucked in to buying a 'cheapo' penlight (even after reading the more mixed reviews...) and finding out for myself how horribly unreliable it really was, I ended up after the second day by releaving it of it's batterys, and chucking it in the trash. It wasn't even worth the hassle of returning it! This Penlight is dead-reliable. It is 'quality' through and through. The only criticism that I can muster is that it may be too slim for big fingers. The beam is bright (VERY bright) and the plastic slip-on protective end-cap will ensure that the glass lens will not break when (inevitably) dropped on concrete. I remember back year ago when Snap-On had these (exact?) penlights, and of course sold them for 3X the price. Those Penlights were all black, and when laid down in the shop, or on a vehicle's fender/engine compartment, they would blend in and 'disappear'. To help avoid this, I ordered a gold colored one... ;-}I gave this to my daughter to use the penlight to check eyes. It works just fine but she's using it as a stylus for her pad because it's too long. A shorter penlight is easier to manuever near a patient's eyes as well as fits best in the jacket or pants pocket. This item is approx. 2" too long for it's intended use - it's even long as a stylus but she's using it. Go for a shorter product - if you order this 6-1/4" item, you'll see just how akward it is.Nice pen light. Comes with batteries and is brightI got this stylus yesterday and have no clue how to use it. I can't get the light to stay on and to use it as a stylus.
