Great Product for Safely storing Crypto Keys! Super idea for the safe keeping of your Crypto keys. You could hide these anywhere and never worry about their condition 20 years from now! Now I suggest that you buy these separately and not the kit with the punches. I sent my kit back as the punch set they use is junk, way too small to read which could result in a mistake. Screw up on one letter and you lost your Crypto. Buy a quality punch set from Amazon for $11 and you even wind up saving ten bucks. The Swanlake Punch Set even comes with numbers and the font size is bigger and easy to read.Get these and the Dremel Electric Engraver 290-02 and call it a day. Took me 5 minute to engrave 1 plate. Easy and you can easily spell the entire recovery phrase word in each box.Ordered 3 of these and just stamped my first one tonight.Converted my BIP-39 seed to numbers. Check and triple checked, then stamped them in slowly. Then checked the stamp against the seed again. Remember, ONE good hit, not a bunch of small ones.I ordered a full alphabetic stamp kit, a 3lb club hammer and a steel stamping block of steel.I had to line up and re stamp a few characters due to off angles or strikes, but you can't tell. It was fairly easy to do. I was able to line up the stamp perfectly again if it needed just a little re strike. You can see the slightest mark on the back side of the plate under the stamp. It looks like a tiny block where someone maybe rubbed a little steel wool or something and in no way can you tell what the characters are on the other side.My plates came out PERFECTLY flat. Reading a lot of reviews here with people's plates curling during stamping. My guess is that they weren't using a hard steel plate behind the ColdTi strip. I bought a metal stamping block here on Amazon for $17. Totally worth it.My rating for this is very high, because to get this kind of high melt temp metal, screened with a nice grid for your seed words for $39 seems very reasonable. If I had to nitpick, I wish I could make my screw hardware pull tighter and one of my screws came with part of it missing the blacking. Used some Birchwood Casey Super Black and it looks great.I would recommend to anyone needing to get rid of some paper wallets and wanting another layer of loss protection. I'm glad that I bought them.I looked at every cold wallet, and this seems to be the bang-for-buck leader. It’s simple, rugged, and efficient. I backed up two hardware wallets- one to each plate. I tried using stamps for ultimate ruggedness, and reverted to a dremel with an engraving bit. 100x faster s add md less prone to errors like a light strike. Could engraving get lost in a fire (as in the torture tests online)? Maybe, but I double-up with a fire-resistant box. Whatever you do, go solid. Don’t use those insertable stamped metal letters. They fall out in a fire and your key is gone forever. Please don’t be a newb and say “there isn’t enough space to put the whole word!! This is so dumb!!!! NEGATIVE YOU ARE NEW AND DONT UNDERSTAND. If your offended I don’t care. If you want to learn something keep reading. You into ever need the first 4 letters of any bip39 words in your seed phrase as they never repeat. Don’t believe me!? Look up bip39 word list and you will see for yourself. The words also translate into numbers you can use for extra security if you need.Remember although is is the best way ever to store a seed... etching and letter/number punching this titanium is a pain in the butt. It maybe better for people with less skill to get one with punch out letters. They are less secure as they could break technically but are much easier for a beginnerThis is the recovery seed storage to get. Follow their tutorial with a 3 to 5 pound steel mallet, not a carpenter’s hammer. Hit the punch one time really hard and you’ll get a nice, deep letter. Don’t hit it several times softly. Punch will move around. Make sure you get it in the right spot in the correct orientation, then give it a good solid whack.Do not buy “CryptoSteel” seed storage or any steel seed storage product. Steel corrodes easier than titanium, yes even stainless steel, and titanium has a higher melting point (depending on alloy). But more importantly, CryptoSteel does not provide permanent seed storage because it is composed of multiple pieces that you have to assemble and lock in place with screws. If it gets damaged/crushed and falls apart, or if it accidentally gets opened and the letters fall out, you’re screwed! You just scrambled your seed. Good luck remembering the words! The only good way to use metal seed storage is to use a hammer and letter punches to punch the letters into a titanium plate. Acid etching is not good enough. What if your house burns down? Soot or other residue may obscure the etching. You may be able to clean it and make it legible again, but I wouldn’t count on it. I would only use a punch to imprint the seed on the titanium plate.Remember, CryptoSteel is like 6x the price of ColdTI, and it does not provide adequate security against edge cases, like those I’ve mentioned. Buy smart! After reading several review for similar products, I settled on this one. I also bought a Dremel engraving tool. Putting the key words on these plates was easy. When I disassembled the plates, I had a bit of trouble with one of the fastening screws, like it was tight and then popped loose. When I went to reassemble the plates, that screw would not seat and after looking closely, I saw that the threads were completely gone. I suspect it may have been a return item to Amazon. After contacting support, they put me in touch with Cold TI. I wrote them an email and they responded in minutes and they’re mailing me a new set of screws for free. They could not have been more helpful. If you need these for your Bitcoin phrases, get this one- it’s the best and the company stands behind their product. So it's titanium right? I bought two and they are completely different in appearance. On one the etchings are dug into the metal and if you run a finger nail over it u can feel it... but on the other it looks like someone drew the lines and numbers on with pen. Also, they are all scratched up to hell and back and the lines aren't even even but at an angle on one of them. I will return this item as defective. It takes a real special level of lack of quality control to have to return TITANIUM plates as bad quality and defective.. assuming these aren't knock-offs, the company should be ashamed of themselves for selling this crap! The quality felt high, I recommend visiting the website as they show the appropriate tools required such as a jewellers block and heavy hammer.I Like the fact that once the product is closed together it is not apparent that it is necessarily a seed phrase. I also like the fact that there is no branding on any of the item. Should the item be found it leads to less chance of the phrases being used. Other similar products have mentioned the branding on it so it takes someone curious to just google search that brand to discover what they really have found etc.Titanium is a superior choice of metal as it can't rust compared to the risk of steel in this regard. I have since ordered more of this product and recommend it to others. You will need to buy your own stamps and punch in the words yourself. If you don't put the ColdTi on a block, you will bash the characters through to the other side of the metal - it might not be possible to read the words this way, but the dents it leaves are unsightly.great attentive service, and an issue speedily resolved, thank youGreat solution for crypto safety
